Why Make a User INActive Instead of Deleting Them?

1. What does it mean to make a user inactive? Making a user inactive means disabling their access to the system while preserving all associated data. You will no longer see that user in the everyday functioning of FleetConnect. They will not appear in the main menu or on the map. However, you can still generate reports on inactive users separately.

The user's account reference remains in the system, but they no longer have access.

2. What happens to the data if I delete a user? If you delete a user, all trips and related data associated with that user become orphaned and will no longer be reportable. This means you lose valuable historical information and disrupt data continuity.

3. How does making a user inactive help with data integrity? By making a user inactive, you ensure that all historical data remains intact and accessible. This is crucial for accurate reporting, FBT auditing, and maintaining a comprehensive record of all activities.

5. Can I reactivate an inactive user if needed? Yes, you can reactivate an inactive user if they need access to the system again. This flexibility allows you to manage user access without losing historical data.
